UPDATE (November 22, 2017): Take A Look Inside Bar Americano and Bar Crema, Debuting Nov. 22 in East Andrews

Andrews Square could soon be home to a two-for-one Italian concept from the team behind The Pinewood, The Mercury, and Proof Old Fashioned Cocktail Syrups, Eater Atlanta Monday first reported.

Bar Americano and Bar Crema, an Italian restaurant and a pastry take-away joint respectively, would debut summer 2017.

Brooks Cloud, one of the project’s partners alongside Julian Goglia and Mike Blydenstein, confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA) Monday.

“Bar Americano and Bar Crema, the latest concepts from the award-winning team behind The Pinewood in Decatur and The Mercury at Ponce City Market, will offer guests classic Italian fare in a relaxed, spirited environment,” Cloud said via a prepared statement.

“Bar Americano will offer full lunch and dinner service and the adjoining Bar Crema will treat guests to take-away items, desserts, gelato and coffees. Inspired by classic cocktails and Italian aperitivos, the beverage program will be rooted in premium spirits and house made ingredients.”

The Italian concepts would open in space formerly occupied by Prohibition (when the development was East Andrews Entertainment District), taking suite 50, a 5,605-square-foot space, according to the Andrews Square site plan.

Edens, a commercial real estate developer, acquired Andrews Square in 2014 and has since been renovating the 2.6-acre shopping center.

Bar Americano would join the relocated Henri’s bakery, Poppy’s of Atlanta, Lucy’s Market, and others in the revitalized shopping center.

  • Excited to see some interest in Buckhead from “in-town” restaurant groups but this concept seems duplicative of things already available in the area. What we desperately need are options like The Mercury and Pinewood.
