According to a recently published article, fast food burger chain Wendy’s has proposed to convert the site of a former Bob Evans restaurant, located at 3988 E Broad St, into a new “Global Next Gen” Wendy’s location. Although most Wendy’s are operated by franchisees, the burger chain, which is headquartered in Columbus, has proposed to open a company-owned and operated high tech version of the chain restaurant on Broad Street.

Besides being owned and operated by the Wendy’s corporation, the “Global Next Gen” Wendy’s would operate a bit differently than other Wendy’s restaurants, in that the Next Gen establishment will utilize AI for taking customer orders. Additionally, according to information in the article, the Broad Street location has proposed to have separate parking spaces for delivery drivers, as well as allowing drivers exclusive use of a separate delivery pick-up window that would lead directly to the kitchen to save delivery drivers time and provide them with easier access.

It’s unclear when the new location would open, or if the outside of the restaurant would look any different than a regular Wendy’s. What Now Columbus reached out to the Wendy’s corporation for comment on the proposed “Global Next Gen” restaurant, but a request for comment was not immediately returned.
