According to a permit filed with the City of Columbus, the Popeyes restaurant located at 2135 E Livingston Ave is set to undergo some repairs due to damage to the restaurant from a car crashing into the building.

As detailed in the permit filing the eatery has interior and exterior damage and the construction work will include electrical and plumbing work, including replacing a bathroom at the location.

Per architectural documents associated with the permit filing, the location is owned and operated by Sapp Restaurant Enterprises, a local franchisor who operates over 10 Popeyes locations in Columbus as well as area Qdoba restaurants.

The restaurant’s Google page lists it as temporarily closed, and What Now Columbus reached out to the franchise group to learn more details on the closure and when the group anticipates the location’s reopening, but a request for comment was not immediately returned.

Popeyes serves up fried chicken, breaded chicken tenders, nuggets, wings and sandwiches, as well as some seafood offerings. The selection of Louisiana-style sides ranges from mashed potatoes topped with a spicy, cajun style gravy, red beans and rice, fries, slaw, biscuits and mac and cheese.
