UPDATE (February 28, 2018): Cowtippers Won’t Close, Will Stay Open For The ‘Foreseeable Future’

Cowtippers Steaks & Spirits on Sunday did not close as originally planned.

Parent company Metrotainment Cafes was set to shutter the honky-tonk steakhouse January 28 after 25 years but, but had a change of heart.

The restaurant will now close Sunday, February 18.

“Due to the overwhelming response from the community, we have decided to extend our closing celebration…” the restaurant Monday said in a newsletter.

“This will give everyone another chance to say goodbye to Cowtippers, as well as give us a little more time to place staff in our other restaurants.

The decision was made yesterday and was shared during the “Heifer Review’ drag show, a company spokesperson Monday told What Now Atlanta in an email.

At the time, a new last day had not yet been determined.
