Coffee shop and live music venue concept Dad’s Coffee Bar later this year will open at 240 Dekalb Industrial Way in Decatur, Eater Atlanta Wednesday first reported.

Owner Jason Waller confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta.

Waller is looking to debut the permanent location sometime in April, he said.

The coffee shop is an extension of Waller’s “D.A.D. Presents” (Depression Awareness Dude) video project focused on highlighting local musicians and artists with depression, addiction, and other disorders.

Dad’s Coffee Bar will showcase local musicians, poets, and spoken word artists, moving the mission of D.A.D Presents forward.

Ahead of opening the brick-and-mortar, Dad’s Coffee Bar will continue “popping-up” around the metro area.

Catch Waller and his team this Saturday, February 24 beginning at 9 a.m. in co-working space Wondershop in Candler Park.

Pop-up coffee shops are a growing trend in Atlanta.

Koinonia Coffee this morning launched a pop-up out of D Cafe & Catering, a restaurant serving soul food in the historic Westview neighborhood.
