The Greater Good BBQ — a joint concept between Bill Wrench, and Clay Harper and Mike Nelson of Fellini’s Pizza and La Fonda — is coming to West Midtown.

A walk-up window version of the barbecue restaurant will open in space previously occupied by Vintage Frozen Custard (Ben’s Brown Bag, Curly’s Fried Chicken and LeRoy’s Fried Chicken before that), at 1021 Howell Mill Road, a company spokesperson Friday told What Now Atlanta in a telephone conversation.

Wrench and his team will soon submit permits to the City of Atlanta for some minor renovations in anticipation of a mid-to-late summer, 2018 grand opening, she said.

The La Fonda-adjacent building has recently been painted red but the interior will stay “pretty much the same.”

Signage is already up at the forthcoming restaurant which will give diners the option to take orders to-go or enjoy al fresco.

The Greater Good BBQ has existing locations in Buckhead, East Lake, and Tucker.
