AMC Parkway Pointe 15 will put $500,000 towards remodeling this summer according to recently-filed construction permits.

The popular Vinings theater at 3101 Cobb Pkwy is already regarded as one of Atlanta’s best. It was voted runner-up to the best movie theater in Atlanta in a 2018 Access Atlanta poll.

The remodel appears to be part of AMC’s $600MM effort to upgrade their theaters nationwide.

The Parkway Pointe location already has AMC’s signature reclining seats and Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, as well as a MacGuffin’s bar serving liquor, wine and beer. All three features are central to AMC’s upgrade initiative.

The Parkway Pointe location only lacks a couple of AMC’s signature amenities. There are no IMAX screens at this location. It also does not offer Dine-In, AMC’s in-theater restaurant service that allows movie-goers to order restaurant-style food directly to their seats.

PTP Construction Services, the contractor on the project, specializes in HVAC and electrical work. Neither AMC or PTP Construction responded to requests for comment.
