Red Rock Development and JLL have announced plans to add three buildings and nearly three million square feet of industrial space to Shugart Farms.

The industrial park is located in the I-85 corridor south of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

According to a press release from the developers, construction is already underway for a 982,777-square-foot speculative industrial building.

Two more “build-to-suit” facilities are in the works with footprints of 1.5 million square feet and 485,381 square feet.

Phase I of the project included two separate buildings that are currently leased.

The first building, completed in 2016, is occupied by Smuckers and totals more than a million square feet. The second, completed in April 2017, is nearly 900,000 square feet and currently leased by Duracell.

The plans for Shugart Farms include continued development. According to the release, the industrial park “will eventually span 2,500 acres and 16 million square feet of industrial space.” The developers claim it will eventually be the largest industrial park in the Atlanta area.

“We’re confident that the facilities at Shugart Farms Phase II will attract a variety of industrial users, and we look forward to bringing prominent tenants and jobs to the region,” said Brad Pope, Senior Vice President at JLL.
