Marriott International has named the Atlanta Marriott Marquis the 2017 Americas Hotel of the Year.

The Atlanta Marriott Marquis also received the Eastern Region Hotel of the Year, Classic Premium Category in early April 2018 outranking hotels in New York, Boston, Nashville, Miami, and DC.

“Our core values as a company shape the way we operate the Atlanta Marriott Marquis,” Erica Qualls-Battey, area general manager, said in a press release.

“Putting our people and guests first, pursuing day-to-day greatness, embracing change, acting with integrity and serving the world are all daily touch points we as a team to measure the hotel experience we deliver. When it all comes together, great things like this happen!”

The winning hotels are selected through a process that showcases how its team executes on the brand promise while delivering distinction in leadership, customer satisfaction, financials, and associate engagement among other areas.

The iconic downtown property was designed by John Portman & Associates.

Completed in 1985, the convention hotel is comprised of 1,663 rooms and has a 50-story, 470-foot atrium.
