Better Half, two-time What Now Atlanta Elite 100 winner, will close its doors for good following dinner service October 27.

Co-owners Zach and Cristina Meloy announced the news on Better Half’s Facebook Monday.

“So, I gotta tell you something but I’m loathed to do it because once it’s out, it’s real. I’m not ready,” according to the social media post.

“Sadly, Better Half is going to be saying ‘goodbye.'”

The five-year-old Home Park eatery first opened its doors in 2013.

“From one GA boy to the rest of y’all: thank you for being my better half for the past five years. I’m proud of the hard work my team has put into making this the best restaurant I’ve ever worked in. There are no words to express how much your love and support mean to me and even though the uncertainty, I’m excited to see what comes next.”

The Meloys were not immediately available to comment on the restaurant’s closure.

No word on what will take the restaurant’s place, at 349 14th St NW.

  • Business owners in Atlanta are like its populace. Fleeting, not in it for the long haul. Can’t appreciate what they have because they want other things. Our home grown businesses, even when supported, do not have the staying power of businesses in other cities.
