Urban Pie in Kirkwood on October 21 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. will host a grand reopening celebration.

The neighborhood pizza joint founded in 2006 since late-2017 has been expanding into a neighboring space.

“Owner Lisa Curtis had a vision of providing Kirkwood it’s largest patio and showpiece bar and that vision is now a reality,” a company spokesperson told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email.

“Craft beer, wine, and signature cocktails complement the thin and crispy artisan pies and casual fare featuring lush salads, savory calzones, and delectable wings.”

During the grand reopening, Urban Pie will provide free food, live entertainment featuring 2 Broke Kings, and giveaways.

When it reopens, Urban Pie will be 3000 square feet with a new patio, horseshoe bar and inside dining area with “big screen TV’s throughout for sports fans.”

Ahead of the renovation, the pizzeria was only 783 square feet.

With the expansion comes a new lineup of daily specials and events:

  • Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. get any signature pie for $15.50.
  • “Sunday Sessions” feature live acoustic music on the covered patio from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • $15 craft beer pitchers on Monday.
  • Wine Not Wednesday: free appetizer with a purchase of a bottle of wine.

When WNA first uncovered the expansion plans, Curtis mentioned at least two new Urban Pie locations were in the works.

Those details have not been disclosed.
