hampton inn and suites to undergo renovations downtown ~ what now, atlanta?

119 room hotel was last renovated in 2005

Hilton Worldwide will renovate their Hampton Inn and Suites Atlanta-Downtown property beginning in February, according to sources at the hotel.

Located at 161 Spring Street, the hotel went through an extensive renovation in 2005 as a company wide initiative that launched in 2004 called, “Make it Hampton.” The $100 million renovation was the brand’s response to similar renovations by competitors and was the first renovation of its kind to focus on a higher volume of updates.

The hotel in its entirety will be renovated, though will remain open.

Specifics of the renovation include “new furniture, painting of walls and ceilings” to the guest rooms as well as “new floor covering, bathroom tile and some new light fixtures,” according to their latest building permit.

Our favorite change brought forth through the renovation? The addition of “closets in rooms without closets.” Which begs the question, why would you build hotel rooms without closets?

We are unable to confirm when the renovations will be complete.
