central city tavern will remain in business ~ what now, atlanta?

They’re calling it a “Christmas Miracle.”

On Dec. 12, 2010 we reported that Central City Tavern would shutter early January.

The restaurant, located at 1801 Howell Mill road, has not closed and will not close, according to new reports from Creative Loafing:

We’ve now been updated that Central City Tavern will in fact be staying open. The deal with the other tenant (planned to be an Italian restaurant, as previously mentioned) fell through and Central City will remain in the Howell Mill location. They’re calling it a Christmas miracle!

Reader “Harry” said it best in a comment he left, updating us on this news:

“CCT has been saved as the probably-going-to-be-crappy Italian restaurant fell through so CCT lives for another day.”

That’s not to say they’ll stay in business much longer but for the time being, they’ve been given another chance.
