Fifth Group Restaurants is moving forward with plans to open a second outpost of its “contemporary” Mexican and Latin American concept Alma Cocina.

A series of permit applications, including for demolition, last week were submitted to the City of Atlanta for the forthcoming Buckhead restaurant.

Nearly $1 million will be spent building out the new Alma Cocina in the Terminus development in space formerly occupied by Bricktop’s.

Bricktop’s closed its doors, at 3280 Peachtree Rd NE #100, at the end of 2017.

The 7,000-square-foot restaurant and bar will open later this year, a company spokesperson in an email Wednesday told What Now Atlanta.

It was supposed to open mid-2019.

Alma Cocina in Buckhead will join sister concept Ecco which recently debuted in nearby Phipps Plaza.

Alma Cocina’s original location is situated downtown, at 191 Peachtree Street.
