Kennesaw’s Hybrid Fit Food is expanding with a second location.

The health-centric “internet cafe” will open in Decatur, at 4960 Covington Highway, under the name Hybrid Fit Food East–the company’s first franchise.

The quick-service restaurant serves soups, salads, sandwiches, and smoothies.

Kierra McPherson is the franchisee.

“Covington highway doesn’t have many healthy food options, and since it’s in a predominantly African American neighborhood, we thought it would be the best fit for us as well as the community,” McPherson, an entrepreneur since the age of 19, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email Friday.

“Our goal is to provide a healthy alternative to our community and help people live healthier lives.”

Hybrid Fit Food East is targeting an early-August opening, assuming the last remaining “city requirements,” being handled by Vance Jones with Ideal Design Solutions, are completed in the next few weeks.

Greg McNeal, the founder of the Hybrid Fit Brand, did not immediately respond to WNA’s request for comment Friday.
