Red’s Beer Garden later this year will open in the Benteen Park neighborhood of Atlanta.

It will bring beer, wine, cider, “sparkling everything,” and hot dogs, to 1328 Boulevard SE in fall 2019.

Construction to the 1,842-square-foot space is expected to begin in August, including the addition of a rear deck with seating.

Wife and husband Kristen and Ed Sumpter are the owners of Red’s Beer Garden.

It was named for Kristen Sumpter whose strawberry blonde hair earned her the nickname “Red,” the restauranteur in an email Saturday told What Now Atlanta.

“Red’s Beer Garden will offer customers the freedom to choose their favorite beer, wine, and cider from our walk up glass door refrigerators or draft selection, order a Pigman Goods hotdog loaded with toppings, and unwind at our indoor/outdoor beer garden with friends and family,” Sumpter said.

“We believe in creating memories, cultivating friendships, and bringing everyone together with a common purpose: to enjoy good food and drink.”

Red’s Beer Garden falls within the Beltline Overlay District and received a Business Facade Beltline grant.

An installation from a local artist will be installed on the facade of the building as part of the grant, according to Sumpter.

Red’s Beer Garden is expected to open in November 2019.

“Benteen Park residents have very few dining options in their own neighborhood and there is a huge need for a communal spot.”
