My Friend’s Growler Shop isn’t sticking around through the end of summer.

The beer shop next month will close its Grant Park doors for good, the Atlanta-Journal Constitution Monday first reported.

An announcement to the My Friend’s Growler Shop Facebook page confirms the news.

“It’s been 1 year, seven months, and 17 days since I bought [My Friend’s Growler Shop],” Owner Brittany Wilkey wrote in the social media post.

“I knew that being a small business owner was going to be a rocky road, and the stats were against me.”

August 3 will be the company’s last day in business, at 415 Memorial Dr. SE Ste B.

“Did you know that 70 percent of small businesses cease operations before their 10th year and that 30 percenter of them don’t make it to year three?,” Wilkey continued.

“Unfortunately, My Friend’s Growler Shop is now a part of that 30 percent, but that’s not the whole story.”

What Now Atlanta reached out to Wilkey for the “whole story” but did not immediately receive comment.
