With the recent influx of metropolitans arriving in Las Vegas, native wine expert Marc Suciu observed that the city has been gearing for a shift from big box retailers to smaller, more intimate wine boutiques.

Having worked as an importer and distributor in the wine and spirits industry for 20 years, Suciu is ready and eager to support his community with a new shopping experience. Suciu told What Now Las Vegas that the city is “ready for smaller, quaint, and more approachable places to shop for wine.”

This summer owner Suciu will debut The Cask, a charming wine boutique that represents an eclectic collection of global and local brands. The Cask will procure wines from regions all of over the world including Greece, Hungary, Mexico, and China. In striving to make The Cask “a complete immersive experience that revolves around wine,” patrons will also be able to purchase wine accessories from Coravin, Riedel glassware, and pre-packaged, picnic-ready charcuterie kits from a local vendor.

Aside from an expansive wine selection, the boutique will also provide an in-depth Sake program and an impressive beer portfolio.

Suciu acknowledges that shopping for wine can be overwhelming for new and young wine drinkers. He is therefore determined to give The Cask a more intimate feel with a welcoming and knowledgeable staff that greets guests with a smile, provides thoughtful suggestions and service, and overall creates a comfortable shopping experience for patrons. The Cask will offer daily tastings of products, online shopping, in-store pick-up, and is currently working on delivery options.

The Cask will settle into a 1,286-square-foot space at 19-27 S Stephanie Street in Henderson. Suciu told What Now Las Vegas that while he looks forward to opening more locations throughout the city and in the valley, it was important to him that he begin with his own neighborhood. Suciu describes The Cask, which will have a sleek, open, and warm design, as “the Nordstrom of wine shops” and aims to someday be compared to Wally’s.

With Suciu’s immense experience and passion for wine, The Cask will certainly dazzle and delight locals, wine enthusiasts, and sommeliers.

Be sure to follow The Cask on Instagram and TikTok for updates and sneak peeks of the boutique’s transformation. Tune in next week when The Cask will be showing demo and look out for The Cask’s grand opening later this summer.
