Larrea, a new restaurant serving “modern American cuisine” will open next month at the Panorama Towers on Dean Martin Dr, in the ground-floor space formerly occupied by The Blind Pig, according to recent coverage in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The project is the brainchild of a celebrity team: executive chef Shaun O’Neale, who rose fame as a winner on the reality show Masterchef and mixologist Benjamin Browning, who appeared in Survivor: Samoa.
Envisioning the restaurant as a “social dining” space, the Larrea team has put together a menu of American dishes with international influences and locally-sourced ingredients. It will feature starters like Baja Kampachi Crudo and Honey-Roasted Pumpkin and Burrata. Entrees include Mafaldine Pasta with pork sugo, mortadella, pancetta, and tomatoes and a Nevada-raised Wagyu burger with a Calabrian chili aoli. For dessert, Key Lime Beignets.
Browning’s influence will make itself felt through drinks like the Rum Raider (spiced rum, lemon, spiced orange cordial, ginger liqueur) and the Knight Shade (mezcal, fresh lime, house-made pineapple gum syrup, passion fruit liqueur), drinks that will please fans of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Vegas Golden Knights. The team told Eater Las Vegas, earlier this year, that the restaurant’s goal was to be known as much for its drinks as for its cuisine.
Panorama Towers is a high-rise 635-unit condo complex in Paradise, Las Vegas. It is situated near intersection of Dean Martin Dr and Harmon Ave, across the street from The Martin condominiums.
