In operation since 1887, Peter Luger is widely known as New York City’s original steakhouse. At the end of this year, the brand will open its first US location outside New York at Caesars Palace. It’s the first new US expansion for Peter Luger Steak House in more than sixty years.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing Peter Luger to Caesars Palace,” Peter Luger president Amy Rubenstein said in a press release. “It was critical for us to be able to bring to Las Vegas the same menu, the same ambiance and—most important—the same quality beef that we are known for in New York, and Caesars was aligned in that vision.”

Peter Luger is famous worldwide for its German beer hall atmosphere. “With its notoriously gruff, bow-tied waitstaff, old word charm, and on-site dry aging of legendary USDA-Prime steaks,” reads the press release, “dining at Peter Luger has become a culinary rite of passage.”

The steakhouse was born in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A second location also operates in Great Neck, New York, and another was opened recently in Tokyo. It has a Michelin Star and has been the Zagat Guide’s top-rated steak house in New York since the guide got started.

“Just like Caesars Palace, Peter Luger is timeless and inimitable,” said Caesars Entertainment Regional president Sean McBurney. “We are thrilled to make a home for Peter Luger on The Strip, and we know our guests will love the opportunity to experience this legendary New York tradition in the heart of Las Vegas.”
