Italian restaurant and cheese bar, Forma, is set for its second location, this time in Venice, at 110 Navy Street. The restaurant has an existing location in Santa Monica, at 1610 Montana Avenue, created by Executive Chef Piero Topputo and General Manager Mario Sabatini. The opening date is expected by late-September or early-October, according to Sabatini.

In choosing the new site, Sabatini told What Now Los Angeles, “We know the area pretty well. We fell in love [with the space]. It was the perfect layout of what we needed” because it would allow for a cheese bar.

The specialty of Forma is pasta served from cheese wheels, such as cacio e pepe. Each location offers about 70 cheeses to choose from as well. The restaurant also offers pizza, charcuterie, and sandwiches.

After the opening in Venice—in the former home of modern izakaya restaurant, Chaya Venice, which closed in November 2018—Sabatini said that there are hopes to eventually open a location in West Hollywood.
