Nashville-style hot chicken chain Angry Chickz opens in Glendale on Friday, reps for the restaurant confirmed over the telephone with What Now Los Angeles Thursday. Festivities kick-off at 11 a.m. at the restaurant, at 730 S. Central Ave., according to a post on the company’s Facebook page. There will be a raffle where one lucky winner won’t win chicken, but rather $1,000 cash.

The restaurant which got its start under the name Angry Birdz — one of many in a growing sea of SoCal Nashville-syle hot chicken eateries — gained notoriety last year after the makers of the Angry Birds game sued the eatery for trademark infringement. At the time, Angry Birdz, er-, Angry Chickz, operated a sole outpost in East Hollywood. Now with its new name, the outcome of the suit is pretty clucking clear.

Angry Chickz is already planning its next location — Oceanside, CA. The forthcoming restaurant, for which an address has not been disclosed, will be the company’s seventh location.
