Taste on Melrose has permanently closed its West Hollywood doors. Chris Mara, an agent with Hilton & Hyland Commercial — the firm that is now looking to lease the available space — confirmed the news in a telephone call with What Now Los Angeles Wednesday.

“The former Taste Restaurant is available to lease on a direct deal with the Owner,” according to Mara’s listing for the second-generation space. “The Property features several areas, patio, and large adjacent parking lot. This Property is one of the premier restaurant properties in the area and is available for a restauranteur to bring their new vision and concept to life in one of West Hollywood’s top locations adjacent to La Cienega and Melrose Pl.”

Taste, at 8454 Melrose Ave, was one of two locations for the local company. The other, in Pacific Palisades, at 538 Palisades Dr., is also closed, according to the Palisadian-Post. “The forced shut down due to quarantine orders regarding COVID-19 on March 15, ongoing and escalating issues surrounding the pandemic coupled with an extremely unclear future brought us to this most difficult decision,” the restaurant’s owners told the Post at the time.

Back in July, the West Hollywood location was still only temporarily closed, with owners telling the Post the plan was “to re-group, re-stock and navigate through the new social distancing dining and health regulations, including making adjustments to our dining rooms to comply.”
