Mutt Lynch’s is a family-owned business that first opened its doors way back in 1975 with Owners Gail and Dan Lynch, who recently celebrated 45 years of business together. Now, the next generation is taking over with Mutt’s, a more “grown-up” version of its sister restaurant, opening up at 2531 Eastbluff Dr in Newport Beach, where the Provenance Italian restaurant used to be.
Meghan and Alex Murray, as well as Ryan and Jerilyn Lynch, are the new couples to carry on the original 2300 W Oceanfront Mutt Lynch’s legacy under that shortened new title, Jerilyn confirmed with What Now Los Angeles (WNLA). It’s a name that is carried on from Dan’s father Emmett Lynch, otherwise known throughout his life as “Mutt Lynch.” Talia Samuels, a spokesperson for Mutt Lynch’s, provided WNLA with a press release regarding Mutt’s Eastbluff Village Center cornerstone restaurant — a central gathering place for the community that will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a “family-friendly, convivial atmosphere.”
“It’s a party and you’re invited.” Mutt’s doesn’t depart from its sister’s beachfront aesthetic too much and will feature eclectic, yet familiar Americana decor, such as repurposed retro furnishings and the brand’s signature year-round Christmas lights — more “refined” than its predecessor.
“Right now, people are craving community. We’re all just mutts, looking to find our pack,” Mutt’s co-owner Meghan stated in the press release. “The progression of our brand is designed to follow our loyal Mutt Lynch’s customers, many of whom have grown up to raise families of their own. We created Mutt’s for them and their families – it’s a place where the community can come together, feel at home, and find their pack. ”
Alex is a partner at Brillstein Entertainment Partners, one of the largest talent management and television production companies, which has taken him throughout America — creating a “roadmap” on how to expand the brand. Mutt’s will serve a variety of alcoholic beverages, including beer, wine, and cocktails. It will also have a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus. The Lynch’s new family-friendly Mutt’s has a planned opening of January.
