In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta is tracking ways Atlanta’s businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.
Slutty Vegan by way of The Pinky Cole Foundation—named for the burger joint’s owner—yesterday delivered 80 meals to healthcare providers at Northside Hospital.
The restaurant and its foundation plan on providing “ongoing meal support” to Grady Memorial Hospital as well, a spokesperson in an email Tuesday told What Now Atlanta.
“We are appreciative of our local health care providers and know that they are doing everything they can to ensure the safety of patients, staff, and families during COVID-19 response,” Pinky Cole, owner of Slutty Vegan, said in a prepared statement.
Slutty Vegan is the latest restaurant to support Atlanta’s frontline pandemic workers by providing free meals.
New-to-the-market Lazy Dog Restaurants is also delivering eats to medical personnel.
The Original Hot Dog Factory and Tropical Smoothie Cafe, both of which remain open for takeout and delivery, are providing free dogs and 100,000 smoothies for frontline workers, respectively.
