In addition to our normal news coverage, What Now Atlanta is tracking ways Atlantaโs businesses are adapting to the novel coronavirus and the challenges it brings to brick-and-mortars.
Word of Mouth RestaurantsโArnette’s Chop Shop, Haven, Valenza, and Veroโon Wednesday, April 1, is launching a virtual market called Apple Valley Commissary, the company Monday announced in an email to patrons.
“With challenges come opportunities, and while our initial focus continues to be on dealing with the circumstances that are staring directly at us, we’re also figuring ways in which we will better be able to serve you once we all get beyond these challenging times,” according to the announcement.
Apple Valley Commissary will offer the “same ingredients that we use at the restaurants” which can be picked up at Arnette’s Chop Shop Wednesday through Saturday.
“As we continue to develop this concept, we’ll be excited to introduce you to many more ingredients and general provisions directly from our sources.”
Word of Mouth Restaurants is the latest group taking part in a growing trend to sell its excess food inventory directly to its customers in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Rumi’s Kitchen earlier this month launched a similar venture called Rumi’s Pantry.
