The inspection report after the routine inspection that was conducted at Waffle House #1194 had listed several violations. Notably, there were no repeat violations that were reported. Corrective actions were taken against all the issues that were reported, except in the case of the PIC’s lack of managerial control.
The report said that the person in charge did not actively prevent food safety risks or demonstrate knowledge of employee health policies. Employees were seen handling raw animal foods and switching tasks without washing hands. Potential cross-contamination was reported as multiple raw proteins were handled with the same gloves.
There were reusable drink containers that were stored above food and equipment, the report said. Unwashed produce was seen stored above ready-to-eat items. The report went on to say that the tabletops were being cleaned with a single towel rather than a proper sanitizing method.
As for temperature issues, the report stated that cold-holding foods and cooled chili were kept above 41°F. Raw shelled eggs on time control were mislabeled, and seasoning containers lacked labels. Unwashed produce was seen prepped for use.
Now that the restaurant has been cleared after the follow-up inspection, it will be able to continue serving its diners. Going forward, it will have to keep ensuring adherence to the food code to avoid unfavorable health inspection outcomes.
