Employees were observed washing and rinsing utensils, then storing them as clean before sanitizing. As a corrective measure, all of these dishes were brought back to the sink to be appropriately cleaned and sanitized, ensuring cleanliness.

Previous Health Inspection Report Details
- Date: the 8th of April, 2025
- Previous Score: 61 (U)
During the routine inspection, the Nations Cafe Lounge scored low marks due to a list of reasons. This included finding remnants of dead and alive insects in the Nations Cafe Lounge premises. The inspectors also observed mold-like substances on the kenkey and cabbage stored in the walk-in cooler.
This was the second consecutive round of violations for the restaurant during a routine inspection. However, the employees ensured that the adulterated food was thrown out immediately.
In addition to this, they observed that certain foods like raw fish, beef, and chicken that were removed from the packaging were stored above the cooked meats in the standing freezer. As a corrective action, the raw animal foods were separated from the frozen and ready-to-eat items on the pass.
The inspectors also observed that the hood filters above certain cooking equipment had accumulated grease. This was not addressed instantaneously, but Nations Cafe Lounge was asked to have their vents fixed in order to prevent contamination.
Now that the restaurant has a clean bill, they will be able to serve their patrons once more. The restaurant will also be expected to improve its health and safety measures and keep them up. Any further strikes could cause a suspension of the permit.
