Atlanta BeltLine’s Southside Trail-West, the first swath of the Southside Trail, is set to break ground on January 22, 2020.

Southside Trail-West is a 0.75-mile portion of the overall four-mile southside corridor, stretching from the southern end of the existing Westside Trail, near University and Metropolitan avenues in Adair Park, toward the downtown connector.

Ground was initially expected to break in October 2019.

This area was selected as the first segment in a phased approach due to its connection among three open and emerging developments including Pittsburgh Yardsa 31-acre mixed-use project named for the neighborhood in which it is situated, Murphy Crossing, and Lee + White.

The event will take place where the westside and southside corridors meet in between Allene Avenue and University Avenue.

Officials from the City of Atlanta, Board of Education, Atlanta BeltLine Inc. Atlanta BeltLine Partnership, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Neighborhood Association Representatives are expected to be in attendance.
