Two new retail buildings could be built next to a Kroger in McDonough.

Each building would be about 13,538 square feet, according to construction documents related to the project. The one-story structures would each include about eight tenant spaces of various sizes, ranging from 1,312 square feet to 2,413 square feet.

The shops are planned for next to the Kroger at 900 E Lake Pkwy. McDonough is in Henry County, southeast of Atlanta.

Lincoln Property Company, a real estate company based in Dallas, Texas, is listed as the developer of the project. The firm has completed more than 150 million square feet of development since it was founded in 1965, according to the company.

The firm was recently appointed the property manager of five Atlanta-area industrial properties, as well as awarded the leasing and management assignment of Tower Place 100, a high-rise office tower in Buckhead.

Alpharetta-based Robertson Loia Roof is listed as the architecture team behind the McDonough retail project. They have been the architecture team behind several restaurants, stores and mixed-use developments in metro Atlanta, including the Kroger near Ponce City Market.

It’s not yet clear what types of businesses are in mind for the new retail buildings in McDonough, but other retail properties by Lincoln Property Company have included national and local tenants.

Construction bids for the project are due April 22, 2024.
