National real estate developer Thompson Thrift has announced plans to build Wrenly in Newnan, an Atlanta suburb. The 214-unit multifamily community is expected to welcome its first residents in April 2027, with full construction wrapping up in early 2028.
Thompson Thrift Announces Development of Wrenly in Newnan
The Wrenly community, sprawling across 8.6 acres, is situated at the northeast corner of Newnan Crossing Boulevard and Newnan Crossing Court. The development will include six buildings offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. According to a press release by the company, apartments will average about 1,000 square feet.
“Coweta County’s entitlement process is grounded in thoughtful planning and community priorities, and we’re honored that our collaborative approach earned the trust and support needed to move this development forward,” said Josh Purvis, managing partner for Thompson Thrift Residential.
“We are excited for Wrenly to deliver high-quality, luxury housing that supports the continued growth and momentum of the Newnan community,” Purvis added.
Amenities and Lifestyle Offerings
Apartment interiors will feature granite countertops, glass-top ranges, modern fixtures, and tiled backsplashes. It will also offer hardwood floorings, patio, balcony, washers and dryers, and options for private yards.
The resort-style space will feature a fitness center, seating spaces with firepits, and a swimming pool. Other amenities will also include a pet spa with a grooming station, a community grilling area, a resident business center, and a pickleball court.
Strategic Location Near Major Employers
Wrenly offers a strategic location near several prominent employers. Nearby employers include Yamaha Motor Manufacturing, Southeastern Regional Medical Center, Piedmont Newnan Hospital, and an Amazon distribution center.
Major investments near the site include Piedmont Newnan Hospital’s $65 million south tower expansion. It will also include the US Soccer National Training Center, worth $200 million. It is a 200-acre development set to open in 2026.
The center is expected to create 400 jobs and have over 200,000 square feet of high-performing facilities, meeting rooms, and headquarters space for employees.
Strong Population Growth Drives Need for New Housing Options in Newnan
Coweta County has witnessed a limited number of multifamily deliveries in the past 10 years. That accounts for just 1.4% of all multifamily deliveries across the Atlanta metro during the same period. It was despite population growth exceeding 21% over the last 15 years.
It is expected to grow by another 5.6% in the next five years. This has led to a shortage of housing options for the new residents, which makes Wrenly a good addition to the Newman market.
With an increasing investment activity in the region, Wrenly is set to meet rising housing demand in Newnan.
