Developer Selig Enterprises is moving forward with the development of a 300-unit multifamily project at its Upper Westside mixed-use project, The Works, according to a multifamily land development permit filing on Monday.

The plans, which call for initial work on the building’s sidewalks and streetscape, pool, landscape amenities, and other features, are part of Selig’s 80-acre mixed-use redevelopment of antiquated warehouses in Atlanta’s Underwood Hills neighborhood. Announced in 2017, The Works will eventually include 500 units, 500,000 square feet of office space, 350,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, and 200 hotel rooms.

As of last summer, the multi-phased project had already welcomed an array of retail and restaurant tenants, including BOBO Intriguing Objects, Les Mains Nail Bar, and the food hall Chattahoochee Food Works.

Whereas the food hall and other retail openings are on the east side of Chattahoochee Row Northwest at and around 1235 Chattahoochee Ave. NW, Selig’s new multifamily project and accompanying parking deck are slated for 1301 Chattahooche Ave. NW, according to this week’s permit application. Selig does not have plans to include affordable housing within the project, which will feature high-end units with rents starting at $1,500, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported last year.
