Fantasy sports operator PrizePicks has announced plans for a new 33,000-square-foot headquarters in Atlanta.
The expanded HQ will be located at the Star Metals Offices building in West Midtown.
“Atlanta has always been our home, where we are redefining mobile sports entertainment,” said PrizePicks co-founder and CEO Adam Wexler. “This move to Star Metals will help us create more world-class, high-skilled and high-wage jobs in our great city while we deepen our connections across the community.”
PrizePicks is the country’s largest skill-based daily fantasy sports operator. The company plans to grow its workforce by 1,000 new jobs over the next seven years. The company currently has more than 500 full-time employees and 160-part time employees, according to Associated Press.
Investment in the new headquarters will have an economic impact of $25 million on the state of Georgia, according to a news release.
“Georgia continues to be a driver of tech growth and innovation, attracting innovative companies with its unique mix of talent and infrastructure,” Gov. Brian Kemp said in the release.
Kemp went on to say that the “announcement is a reminder of our strength in both welcoming new projects as well as creating an atmosphere where existing businesses can expand and thrive. I look forward to seeing the impact of these thousand jobs on the Atlanta community.”
PrizePicks also recently announced that it is continuing its partnership with the Atlanta Braves as the club’s Official Daily Fantasy Sports Partner for the 2024 season, giving the company prominent signage throughout Truist Park.
PrizePicks was founded in Atlanta in 2015. Wexler is a graduate of University of Georgia.
Sports betting is currently not legal in Georgia, but websites like PrizePicks are able to operate in the state, saying they offer games of skill, not chance.
