The health-conscious market plans to take over ‘about half’ of the Staples in Midtown Place Shopping Center.

Whole Foods Market in Midtown Place Shopping Center at 650 Ponce De Leon Avenue NE will expand into space currently occupied by Staples next door.

“We are expanding but can’t provide details yet,” the manager on duty at Whole Foods Midtown told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation Wednesday.

Subsequent inquiries seeking comment from representatives at Whole Foods’ corporate offices were not immediately returned.

An employee at Staples confirmed that Whole Foods will take over “about half” of the office supplies store’s current space.

The entire Staples space is approximately 10,000-square-feet, according to Coro Realty, which owns the property.

  • We live across the street and shop at both stores. We will be very disappointed if we lose the Staples. The store, it’s super staff, and it’s services are something I use weekly. There are half a dozen grocery stores within 5 minutes, but nothing to replace Staples if we lose it.
