Owner Tom Murphy announces intentions for another location.

Murphy’s Restaurant, a Virginia-Highland mainstay since December 1980, could open a second location.

At a recent Oxford Center Roundtable discussion, restaurant owner Tom Murphy shared with the audience of entrepreneurs, his intention to open another Murphy’s Restaurant within the next two years.

What Murphy’s second venture may look like and what part of town it may open in has not been confirmed.

  • I’ve always liked Murphy’s but its been about 2 years since I’ve been. It seemed they were in need of a menu makeover because it was virtually the same as the first time I visited. I guess you might say don’t mess with success but I did find myself hoping there were new menu items the last time I visited…
