(UPDATE: Feb. 18, 2016): Billy Streck’s Pizzeria To Be Called Atwoods Pizza

Billy Streck, co-owner of Atlanta favorite Cypress Street Pint and Plate, is planning another Midtown restaurant with his partners, this time a pizzeria.

A building permit application was filed with City of Atlanta recently to buildout the forthcoming restaurant at the corner of 6th and West Peachtree Streets in The Biltmore Hotel, near Cypress Street Pint and Plate.

The yet-to-be-named pizza joint will replace The Biltmore Cafe and Grill, at 817 West Peachtree St. NW, Janice Coleman-Williams, property manager for Novare Group, The Biltmore’s landlord, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) on a visit to the space this week.

An estimated $200,000 will be spent converting the 2,230-square-foot space into the pizzeria. A separate permit is expected to be filed to build a new outdoor patio for the restaurant.

Streck later this year plans on opening Hampton and Hudson in the Inman Quarter development in Inman Park. The restauranteur is also a partner of Grain in MidCity Lofts and the recently-opened Tavernpointe concept in the Invesco building.

A company spokesperson confirmed in an email to WNA late Tuesday that Streck and his team are opening a pizza place. Details as they’re available.
