UPDATE (January 3, 2017): Midtown’s Bon Ton To Open January 10

Midtown’s TOP FLR restaurant could soon be reborn.

Well, the bottom floor, at least.

Darren Carr, the owner of the dining establishment that shuttered Nov. 2015, has plans to open Bon Ton in TOP FLR’s place.

Bon Ton would occupy the former restaurant’s first level, at 674 Myrtle St NE, and could offer a “twist” on cajun-style seafood, Carr told What Now Atlanta in a telephone interview Wednesday.

Carr has partnered with Hieu Pham of Crawfish Shack to add a Vietnamese flare to the traditional New Orleans-style seafood recipes Bon Ton would be serving up.

The 1,900-square-foot space is expected to undergo minor renovations like the addition of new seating and booths, a new bar “top and back,” paint, and new restaurant equipment, according to a permit application filed with City of Atlanta this week.

Expect a “fun, quirky, vibrant, young” midtown feel with a heavy emphasis on the bar and cocktails, with entrées in the $15 to $25 range.

If all goes according to plan, Bon Ton could debut late-fall 2016.

Carr, a veteran in the Atlanta restaurant arena for 17+ years, is known for concepts like The LawrenceThe Sound Table, and Dinner Party Atlanta.
