The new restaurant could open October 1 in Castleberry Hill.
Real Estate Agent Sabreen Hill and her daughter and son-in-law Courtney and Alton Starr, police officers, are trying their hands at restauranteering.
The trio have plans to open Brunch Cabana, an all-day breakfast eatery in Castleberry Hill, Sabreen told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in a telephone conversation late Thursday.
“We’re babies when it comes to opening a restaurant,” Sabreen said. “We’re learning, we’re growing. It’s scary and exciting all at the same time.”
Brunch Cabana will replace the now-shuttered Boxcar Grocer, a 1,547-square-foot space at 249 Peters Street SW. Alison and Alphonso Cross, the brother and sister team behind Boxcar, shuttered the market late January.
There won’t be many changes to the Boxcar space, according to Hill. “We’re not changing anything about the building. We’re going to add to it.”
Even the “Eat Local, Eat Well” slogan painted on the wall is staying. Additions like a kitchen, seating, and a small bar will be added to convert the space from the market to the restaurant.
Brunch Cabana, open as late as 1 a.m. on most days, will serve up dishes like shrimp and waffles and other cajun-inspired breakfast eats all day.
“I’m praying that we’re going to be a blessing to the area, and the community embraces us. We want to come to Peter’s Street and make an impact.”
Brunch Cabana is slated to open October 1.
The food and service at Brunch Cabana are great!
To the writer of this article, restauranteer or restauranteering are not words. Restauranteur is the word.
