Details surrounding Chattahoochee Food Works, a new food hall planned for Selig’s The Works, have surfaced.
What Now Atlanta (WNA) caught up with the market’s owner Robert Montwaid over the weekend.
Montwaid was an original co-founder of NYC’s Gansevoort Market.
“I had been looking at Atlanta as an expansion market and looked at a space around the [Upper Westside] neighborhood in late 2017,” Montwaid in an email told WNA.
“A broker in NYC referred me to a broker in Atlanta and introduced me to this project and to Selig Enterprises. I fell in love with the project and the vision for it.”
Chattahoochee Food Works will house around 30 vendors “of all shapes and sizes.”
“I have just started sourcing vendors and have been on a couple tastings and will ramp up in the next two months which will coincide with the completion of the design,” Montwaid said.
“I am looking for the best that Atlanta has to offer.”
Chattahoochee Food Works could open as early as the fourth quarter of 2019, January 2020 at the latest.
“I love the energy and food scene that Atlanta has right now and look forward to being part of it.”
Chattahoochee Food Works is one of two anchor tenants announced Friday for The Works.
