Takashi Otsuka, owner of ramen go to WaGaYa, is planning Chirori for the Home Park neighborhood of Atlanta.
The Japanese restaurant would replace Better Half, adjacent WaGaYa’s original location, at 349 14th St NW.
Better Half closed its doors in October.
Chirori, the text translation of the Japanese characters 銚釐, means “a bottle in which saké is heated.”
A permit application Thursday was filed with the City of Atlanta for the restaurant.
Details are scarce but What Now Atlanta (WNA) did uncover a mood board for the restaurant on Otsuka’s personal Pinterest page.
Otsuka could be working with Thiesen Interiors on the restaurant’s design.
Britni Theisen, the owner of Thiesen Interiors, is the only person following Otsuka’s “Chirori” board on the social media platform.
Otsuka and Theisen did not immediately respond to WNA’s request for comment.
