Confirmed! Pellerin Real Estate To Acquire Building Housing The Graveyard Tavern

Pellerin Real Estate (PRE), the developer behind The Beacon Atlanta, is “poised to acquire” the property currently occupied by The Graveyard Tavern, at 1245 Glenwood Avenue SE, PRE Monday announced in a press release.

In doing so, The Graveyard Tavern will close as rumored last week, and its sister concept The Basement, located downstairs from the main space, will remain in business.

“We’re evaluating all options to reactivate the existing building in a way that best utilizes the in-place infrastructure and stands the test of time,” Philippe Pellerin, Principal at PRE, said in the release.

“Our projects begin with one question: How can this building be used to enhance the community while retaining its character and integrity? The legacy of the Graveyard Tavern leaves big shoes to fill, but Pellerin is eager to kick-start a new chapter for the building that will maintain the community’s independent spirit.”

Pellerin did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment including why the firm is not working to keep The Graveyard Tavern in place.

There could be another tenant inbound with the “existing restaurant build-out being a natural fit for the food and beverage industry.”
