Significant construction will soon be underway at the Edgewood Retail District to convert 1,724 square feet of retail space, at 1250 Caroline Street, to a Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurant, according to permits filed with the City of Atlanta.

The Jersey Mike’s will likely be replacing the now-shuttered Sole Shoes and Accessories, which is currently the center’s ‘sole’ vacancy, a representative from the Edgewood Retail District management office shared.

Project specs detail $457,500 worth of conversion including a grease trap install, full kitchen equipment, and a 34-seat dining area.

The Edgewood Retail District is anchored by Target, Lowe’s, and Bed, Bath and Beyond in addition to numerous retail and restaurants, two of them similar fast-casual sandwich slingers, Subway, and American Deli.

The Jersey Mike’s franchisees shared with What Now Atlanta on a phone call that they expect to be signing the lease next week.
