Dope Coffee, which opened in Azalea Fresh Market in Downtown Atlanta last year, recently closed their location at Azalea. Owner Mike Loyd Jr. announced the closure in May on the Dope Coffee Instagram page, sharing that he planned to relocate to a different space that would allow the team to provide upgraded customer service and hospitality.

“We’ve met a lot of incredible people downtown who truly supported our products, as reflected in the amazing reviews and ratings we’ve received,” the announcement stated. “We’re grateful for every customer who stopped in, supported us and believed in what we’re building.”

At the time, Dope Coffee’s announcement shared that they were considering a few different locations. Since then, Loyd has revealed that a flagship location and roastery is in active buildout in Stonecrest. That location will function as both a sit-down cafe and a manufacturing facility for Dope Coffee, featuring dedicated roasting and packaging spaces as well as a cafe area. The spot will feature a walk-up bar, specialty coffee and beverages on tap, and patio seating.

Loyd confirmed that a new location was in the works in a message to What Now Atlanta but was not available to provide further information prior to the time of publication. As of now, an exact address and opening timeline have not been announced.

Dope Coffee is known for its hip-hop-inspired specialty coffee blends. The team also operates a mobile cold brew bus in the Atlanta area.

Last year, Loyd told What Now Atlanta that Dope Coffee would be opening a cafe location in the forthcoming Azalea Fresh Market that is expected to open this coming October at 2080 Campbellton Road. According to the Dope Coffee website, it appears that location is still expected to open in Azalea in partnership with Savi Provisions.
