An experienced local restaurant operator is cooking up a third concept in Stone Mountain.

Smashd Burgers & Bourbon is planned for 5370 Stone Mountain Highway at the Stone Mountain Square Shopping Center.

The restaurant will serve a range of burgers, including lamb, wagyu and bison varieties, along with flavorful sides, like southern fried green beans and sticky bacon with maple and parmesan.

“We’re looking forward to bringing another fun concept to the community,” owner Chef Wic told What Now Atlanta.

This will be Chef Wic’s third restaurant in the area, with the burger concept joining Trend Urban Cafe and Guac Taco Studio, both located at the same shopping center as the upcoming Smashd Burgers & Bourbon.

Guac Taco Studio opened in summer 2023, serving a variety of customizable bowls and unique tacos like Santa Fe Steak, Shrimp Po Boy, Lamb Gyro, Portobello Mushroom Asada, and Chicken and Waffle. Sides and apps like seasoned tots and breaded queso fritters complement the taco offerings.

Trend Urban Cafe has been a popular Stone Mountain spot for nearly six years. The eatery is known for its vegetarian and vegan options, with a large menu of sandwiches (many fans enjoy the Tipsy Chick and the Portobello Patty Melt), burgers, chicken wings and salads.

Chef Wic began his culinary career in North Carolina, moving to Georgia about 10 years ago. He said he enjoys cooking up concepts that fill a void in the community.

Each one is a totally different experience,” he said of his three separate restaurants. “I base these on what the community would need. [For example], I opened Guac Taco because there wasn’t a designer taco place around, it was a lot of traditional Mexican.”

They are aiming to open Smashd Burgers & Bourbon by the end of June 2025.
