Hippin Hops Brewery and Distillery continues to expand — this time to Stone Mountain, where construction is almost finalized on a new production brewery and taproom. They are hooking up the brewery equipment at 5644 Memorial Dr. and aiming to open for customers this upcoming May.

Clarence and Donnica Boston, a married couple, both co-own the brewery company. The new facility in Stone Mountain will mass produce large amounts of beer to meet the demands of their other locations in East Atlanta and East Lake, as confirmed by Clarence to What Now Atlanta.

Clarence, who is also in the death care industry, initially thought to use the Memorial Rd space to build a funeral home, but decided to expand his brewery instead, he said.

In late February, they opened their second location at Hosea and 2nd complex in East Lake. After Stone Mountain, they will open another outpost in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Hippin Hops at Stone Mountain will have a 15-barrel Prospero brewery. Once open, it will be the biggest Black-owned brewery company in the country, Clarence told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
