Linton and Gina Hopkins of Hopkins & Co. are not moving forward with plans to open Eugene and Elizabeth’s, for now anyway.

“Since the announcement, the Hopkins have decided that the original Restaurant Eugene space no longer aligns with the overall vision for Eugene and Elizabeth’s,” a spokesperson in an email Thursday told What Now Atlanta.

“Eugene and Elizabeth’s will be a fresh charming spot that embraces its neighborhood, seasonality, and simplicity.”

Eugene and Elizabeth’s was supposed to replace the Hopkins’ Restaurant Eugene which closed its doors in August 2019.

“Until Eugene and Elizabeth’s finds its forever home the opening date will remain indefinite.”

In late-spring 2020, Holeman & Finch, which neighbors the former Restaurant Eugene space, is keeping plans to relocate from its original location to Midtown’s Colony Square.

“The new restaurant will offer a convivial welcoming atmosphere with over 125 seats, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an outdoor coffee and cocktail kiosk.”

In addition to Holeman & Finch and Eugene and Elizabeth’s, Hopkins & Co. will continue to own and operate Holeman & Finch Bottle Shop, C. Ellet’s Steakhouse, H&F Burger, and Hop’s Chicken.
