But where the heck is the 12 year old restaurant sign going?

nickiemoto's sign spotted in transit off delk road ~ what now, atlanta?

5 napkin burger officially took over the shuttered Nickiemoto’s space today after the restaurant closed on Dec. 12.

Pictured above, the Nickiemoto’s marquee was spotted by reader Kevin Leonard, at the Race Trac on Delk Road.

But where the heck is it headed? Possibly to hang as art in a patrons home? Will it be turned into scrap pieces and recycled? Is it going to be tossed in a dumpster on the side of the road?

Rumor has it that Nickiemoto’s is reopening in West Atlanta. It’s quite possible that the sign, and other restaurant equipment, are headed to storage for now.

  • I’m excited for 5 Napkin Burger (sorry Nickiemoto’s!) but I would like to see them re-open. West Midtown could use a sushi spot…

  • Actually they’re probably taking it back to the sign shop to rearrange the letters to “Cookie Mints” the newest yofro chain to hit Atlanta. At .37/oz it is sure to be a hit!

  • I am so freaking tired of these stupid new hamburger places opening up. Vortex and Ann’s Snack Bar have the ATL hamburger scene covered. 5 Guys was a welcome addition, but how many burger places does one town need? Oh yea, also I can grill a better burger than half these “gourmet burger” places for 1/3 of the cost.

  • There’s a sign ship on Marietta Blvd, just north of Chattahoochee Ave that I have seen a great many signs go to upon the death of the establishment they advertised.

  • Im sad to see Nickiemoto close, but have been to 5 Napkin Burger in NY and have to say one of the best burgers i’ve had, so bring it on!
