A local Mexican restaurant is cooking up a new location in northern Georgia.

Hacienda Bar & Grill is planned for 31 Maxwell Lane in Dahlonega, according to construction plans. The documents indicate that the restaurant will be about 4,200 square feet and include a bar and outdoor patio.

Hacienda Bar & Grill is an authentic Mexican restaurant with several locations around metro Atlanta. They have also signed a lease to open a location in Snellville, as What Now Atlanta reported earlier this year.

The menu includes street tacos, fajitas, steak, seafood and specialties like tableside guacamole.

“Since our inception, we have focused on celebrating the richness and diversity of Mexican cuisine, showcasing specialties that captivate the soul and excite the palate,” according to the website.

It appears that the new location will be part of the Dahlonega Village shopping center, under development now by Watkins Real Estate Group. Project documents indicate that a Publix grocery store is in the works at the more than 65,200-square-foot development, along with two buildings of additional commercial space.

In addition to Hacienda Bar & Grill, Jersey Mike’s and Lifestyle Nail Bar are also listed as future tenants. In total, there about nine tenant spaces available. The development is adjacent to the Home Depot at 140 Maxwell Lane.
