Morningside eatery will be owner’s second new concept in as many years.
UPDATE (Feb. 17, 2016): Tom Murphy To Open Morningside Kitchen.
One of the two Morningside spaces left behind by Ron Eyester has a new owner and concept on the way.
Tom Murphy, owner of Murphy’s and Paces & Vine, will continue to expand his restaurant group by purchasing the space formerly occupied by Rosebud at 1397 North Highland Avenue Northeast in Morningside.
Murphy confirmed the plans to purchase the space in a telephone conversation with What Now Atlanta (WNA) Tuesday but was not immediately available for further comment.
The former Rosebud space will be the owner’s second new concept in two years after Paces & Vine opened in October 2014.
Murphy opened Murphy’s at its current location in 2001, waiting 13 years to begin expanding with these new concepts.
Stay tuned to What Now Atlanta for updates regarding the concept and a future opening date.

My excitement/relief is difficult to contain.
so excited!!! this is a great addition to the neighborhood!
Very excited about this! I would like to see a walkable/bikeable brunch/lunch spot from my house with a nice bar with local drafts on tap. Also I would like to eventually see this area become a decent extension to Virginia Highlands with a thriving restaurant/bar scene. Now someone needs to buy Timones and Family Dog while the momentum is going!
Happy to hear the news!
Welcome to the neighborhood. Need this here.
