It’s still a construction zone in and around The Companion, but things are starting to take shape at the soon-to-be West Midtown “full-service bar with restaurant tendencies.”

Though Chef/owner Andy Gonzales is awaiting several permitting approvals and inspections in order to open, an early-March 2020 is likely, the restauranteur, who also helms the kitchen and the beverage program at sister bar Steinbeck’s in Decatur, told What Now Atlanta (WNA).

When asked by a commenter under an “elevator pitch” Facebook post, “family-friendly, or more of a bar vibe?” Gonzales replied, “we will be family-friendly.”

“We look forward to serving this community and we look forward to meeting our neighbors,” Gonzales later shared with WNA over the phone.

“We are purposely named ‘Companion’ because we wanted to be part of the community at large that has been somewhat underserved. It’s not only our brand, but it’s also our reason.”
